Alzheimer’s Assisted Living
Campbell Cove was specifically designed for individuals with memory loss due to Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. In a secure, homelike environment residents receive loving, nurturing care and assistance with the activities of daily living.
Campbell Cove offers specialized programming with activity-focused care. The objective is to foster resident involvement by providing a stimulating array of activities that capture the resident’s interest and attention. Campbell Cove received an “exemplary” conformance to standard during the 2006 CARF-CCAC peer survey. Recognition was given for exhibiting a person-centered approach to programming. The survey team acknowledged, “Although activity programming is scheduled, the staff and management support unscheduled and unplanned activities to enhance quality of life and satisfaction of Campbell Cove residents”.
Campbell Cove accommodates thirty-six residents who are fully ambulatory and able to participate in specially created activities. Campbell Cove’s architectural design includes three color-coded wings, each with a family room and dining area, plus twelve furnished private bedrooms. Personalizing to re-create a familiar surrounding is encouraged. The residential wings join together in a large multipurpose area, an arts and crafts room, recreation center, country kitchen and living room. Outdoor freedom is enjoyed on beautifully landscaped patios and in a large, secure walking garden.
Admission criteria, in conformity with Mississippi State Department of Health regulations for Alzheimer’s Assisted Living, must be met. An evaluation to determine whether Campbell Cove could adequately meet the individual’s identified needs is fundamental to the application process.
Assisted Living at Campbell Cove offers a protected, dignified environment. It is a step in the Life Care continuum. An individual who is not part of the Life Care program can apply for admission directly to Campbell Cove, if availability permits.
Services provided in Campbell Cove include:
- Three meals served daily
- Coffee and refreshments
- Supervision of self-administered medications
- Assistance with activities of daily living, as needed
- 24-hour professional nursing staff
- Planned activities (social, cultural, educational, recreational and spiritual)
- All utilities
- Weekly housekeeping and linen laundering
- 24-hour security staff on duty
